COACH JOSHUA IN HIS OWN WORDS:
I was born 11 ½ weeks early on July 3rd weighing in at 2lbs 12oz. Born in Pomona California, I lived 11 years in Southern California before my family moved to Federal Way WA in 1993. While attending Decatur High School I worked at North Shore Golf Course and played Varsity golf during my Junior and Senior years. After High School I attended the San Diego Golf Academy and received my Associates Degree in Golf Management. I have continued my education at the University of Phoenix and earned my Bachelors in Business Management while working as Guest Service Manager at Trilogy Golf Club in Redmond. After Trilogy I found himself working as an Assistant Golf Professional at Glendale Club in Bellevue WA.
In 2017, The First Tee of Seattle acknowledged me as the Coach of the Year for the Greater Seattle Chapter. I’ve been working and coaching with the First Tee for the past 6 years where I am able to positively impact the communities in which I serve by mentoring youth. Currently I work with two 501 c (3) non-for-profit organizations. When I am not working with The First Tee of Seattle connecting Life Skills and Core Values to the game of golf, I am also serving the Bellevue School District. I work with Jubilee Reach as an On-Site Coach and Mentor in the Elementary School level, which allows me to offer before and after school activities for the students to explore their interests in a positive and safe environment. My main purpose is to grow the game of golf, encourage positive behaviors while making golf fun to learn. |
